HELLO,

We are Capucine, Lilou, Mathilde and Emma. We are in 1G1. We have been chosen to participate in this exchange with The Northwest School therefore we are in Seattle now.

This week we are going to tell you what it’s like to go to school here.

There is a lot of differences between Mounier and here :

  • there is no bell ! The students should be in the class on time and it’s up to the teacher to keep track of time.
  • during a class of 75 min, there is a break of 5 min. However there is no break between two classes consequently there is no playtime (récréation).

  • the students can leave the class whenever they want to go to the restrooms or have some water.
  • they also can use their laptop and their phone. Sometimes they can even listen to music.
  • if they want they can bring food and drink into the class.

  • the students call the teachers by their first names whereas in France we call them by their last name.
  • Class begins at 8.40am and finish at 3pm
  • Students are really close to their teachers
  • Students can keep their hats and jackets during classes.
  • students can have religious sign on them.

SEE YOU NEXT WEEK !!
